Welcome to High School Art. I am Carrie Slay. I am thrilled to have you in class this year! In this class you will learn to exercise your creative muscles. You will learn the skills you need to express yourself visually. You will learn techniques to help you develop skills and about historic and contemporary artists. You will acquire basic skills necessary to complete assignments and improve your manual dexterity

Students are expected to be prepared and be dedicated to their work in this class. In addition to studio work, students will also complete assignments based on art history. There are homework/sketchbook assignments to be completed on the students own time. So be prepared to dedicate at least an hour a week of your own time outside of class.  Students will be given ample time in class to complete in class assignments.
