Hello! Welcome to the English II webpage.  This year, we will work to improve our listening, speaking, reading, writing, and thinking skills.

Course Descriptions

English II is composed of units incorporating the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, including reading strategies to enhance the analysis of the development of themes across all types of texts. Students will also be required to develop, craft, and support their ideas in persuasive writing, as well as support their synthesis of information and interpretations of texts with valid evidence.

 

English II Honors is composed of units incorporating the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, including reading strategies to enhance the analysis of the development of themes across all types of texts. Students will also be required to develop, craft, and support their ideas in persuasive writing, as well as support their synthesis of information and interpretations of texts with valid evidence. This course includes an accelerated curriculum combining mastery of Texas Essential Skills and Knowledge along with opportunities for creative expression and independent research that reflect analysis, synthesis, application, and evaluation of the content, audience, and purpose of all texts.  Outside reading and projects will be required.
Tutorials will be scheduled by appointment.
 
Supplies needed for class include pen, pencil, notebook paper, and a folder or binder for storing handouts.  Please bring your chromebook to class daily.
