World History Studies
World History offers an overview of the entire history of humankind. The major emphasis is on the study of significant people, events, and issues from the earliest times to the present. This course is designed to provide students with a vital understanding of the past to help them understand their times. Attention is given to the growth of ideas, the arts, religion, education, literature, and other aspects of intellectual and social history, as well as the political, geographic, and economic history of world cultures. Students use the process of historical inquiry to research, interpret, and use multiple sources of evidence.
Honors World History Studies
In addition to the requirements listed in the World History course, students will develop skills in critical reading, research, document evaluation, and essay writing. Class activities provide opportunities for an explanation of topics through independent research and allow for a creative expression of student learning. Outside reading and projects will be required.
